Southold Town's Memorial Day Parade Canceled Due to Weather Forecast
Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell has canceled the parade due to threats of heavy rain and potential thunderstorms.
NORTH FORK, NY - A Memorial Day Parade scheduled to kickoff in Greenport Monday at 10 a.m. has been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather.
According to Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley, "After consulting with the National Weather Service, which has forecast heavy rain and possible thunderstorms for Monday, May 30, 2016, Southold Town Supervisor Russell has canceled the town's Memorial Day Parade, scheduled to take place in Greenport Village."
