Supervisor Extends Warming Center Hours On Frigid Weekend

PECONIC, NY — As the cold weather continued Saturday, Southold Town extended the hours for a warming center opened to help those who need a safe haven.

Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell and the town's office of emergency management opened a warming center at the Southold Town Community Center, located at 1170 Peconic Lane in Peconic, on Friday at 4 p.m. The center will now remain open through Sunday, Feb. 5 at noon.
