'Wall Of Honor' Thanks North Fork Military Heroes For Service

MATTITUCK, NY — The Mattituck-Cutchogue School District thanked the North Fork's military heroes recently.

During this year’s 6th Annual Wall of Honor Induction Ceremony held at Mattituck Jr./Sr. High School, 16 Mattituck alumni were inducted, bringing the total number of honorees to 144.

The Wall of Honor serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who serve in the military and also allows the district to thank the alumni for their service, ensuring that the alumni will serve as role models for students, the district said.

This year’s ceremony included a video message from Petty Officer Rachel Park, Mattituck High School Class of 2020. Park is on active duty in the U.S. Navy and was inducted to the Wall of Honor in 2021. She spoke about what it means to be a member of the Wall of Honor and reflected on watching the creation of the wall when she was a student — as well as the pride that accompanies being an inductee.
