What a weekend….we tried out a few new places with family post Labor Day; the Blue Canoe in Greenport followed by a ferry to Shelter Island and desert at Chequit. A great way to spend a Sunday evening with great views and a little time on the bay!

Now to Real Estate ……As of the end of August, we have closed 348 transactions on the North Fork, with Douglas Elliman leading the effort with over 21% of the revenue volume which is double the next brokerage. These numbers reflect a 16% market improvement over the same period in 2012. At the same time, pricing continues flat, as the average price for all houses sold on the North Fork has only improved by $3,000 ($440,591). The number of houses on the market remains high, causing downward pressure on pricing, and the better inventory is selling quicker than the stale inventory.
