2 Firefighters Suffer Minor Injuries in E. Northport Blaze
Firefighters battled a house fire early Wednesday morning, officials said.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries battling a house fire in East Northport early Wednesday morning, officials said.
The fire broke out at 49 Greenvale Drive in East Northport at 1:10 a.m., according to East Northport Fire Department Chief Joe Ervin. The occupants of the home escaped the fire safely. The fire was under control by 2:30 a.m., according to Ervin.

The two injured firefighters were treated at a local hospital and released, one for a hand injury, the other for smoke inhalation, Ervin said.
Northport Fire Department covered the East Northport district while East Northport battled the fire, Ervin said. Emergency units were on the scene from Greenlawn, Commack, and Centerport.

The cause of the fire does not appear suspicious, though remains under investigation, officials said.
