Two firefighters were treated and evaluated by medical personnel after they battled a blaze at a Northport home on Saturday night.
Firefighters responded to the unoccupied Mariners Lane home to discover a basement fire at 10:25 p.m., according to the Northport Volunteer Fire Department on Facebook.
The fire from the basement quickly traveled to the upper floors through unobstructed spaces in the walls due to the home's "balloon frame" construction, fire officials say.
