4 Northport HS Seniors Advance As National Merit Semifinalists
All four students who were semifinalists in Northport advanced to finalist standing.

NORTHPORT, NY — All four of Northport High School’s National Merit semifinalists advanced as finalists in this year’s competition, according to the school district.
Seniors Nicholas Crafa, Joshua D’Souza, John Dwyer and Zoe Meadows earned this recognition through their tremendous academic and extracurricular achievements, the school district stated.
Josh D’Souza will be attending Stony Brook University and majoring in computer science; John Dwyer is headed to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to major in environmental engineering; and Zoe Meadows has committed to Duke University and will major in biomedical engineering. Nick Crafa is awaiting final responses from his top schools and plans to major in pre-med.

The National Merit Finalist process is highly competitive and is determined based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, community service record, leadership, employment experience and more.
"These students continue to push themselves to achieve at the highest levels and we are so proud of their accomplishments," said Rob Dennis, principal of Northport High School. "I have no doubt they are going to have amazing success as they continue their educational careers."
