CENTERPORT, NY — Centerport firefighters were joined by neighboring fire departments to battle a condominium blaze on Monday afternoon.

Roughly 70 firefighters were sent to Courtyard Circle in Centerport at 2:53 p.m. Monday and battled the flames for approximately two hours before the fire was under control, according to public information officer Steve Silverman.

The majority of the fire was contained to one condo unit, and firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading into neighboring units in the condo complex, Silverman said. Several families in adjoining units were displaced during the fire for at least one day. No injuries were reported, according to Silverman.
