Movie Sparks Conversation About The Hope Of
Recovery
Hometown actress, Marisa Vitali, will shoot and star in her film MIRACLE YEAR taking place in Northport, Long Island at Tim’s Shipwreck Diner April 8th - 10th. Vitali plays Janice, the head waitress and an addict newly clean in recovery. MIRACLE YEAR is inspired by Marisa’s first year clean from drug addiction. Celebrating 11 years clean this past January, she now shares her story of hope and recovery through this film.

With addiction statistics increasing each year on Long
Island and nationwide, it’s no wonder that the disease affects so many people in so many different ways. That’s why Marisa developed the character, Janice, a
recovering addict who is faced with challenging, real life experiences, in order to show that any addict can find a new way to live by the choices they make. This film is an important piece in starting a dialogue as to how we can be a little more compassionate with one another surrounding this disease. How an addict in recovery can live life on life's terms and not pick up no matter what.

ABOUT MIRACLE YEAR:Today, Janice will face her high powered ex-husband in family court for
the custody of their daughter. As head waitress at the Depot Diner, staying
clean and doing the next right thing is her top priority. When Johnny, her boss
makes a decision that affects her ability to appear in court, Janice has to
face her demons of addiction and choose whether to stay clean through life's
adversity or "screw it" and use.
