Body of Elwood Native Found in Canada River After Sailboat Goes Missing
Stephen Cozzette, an experienced sailor, was described as someone who lived life to the fullest.

The body of an Elwood native was discovered in a Canada river Wednesday after he went missing while out on his sailboat Saturday, according to Ottowa Citizen.
Stephen Cozzette, 57, an Ottowa resident and an experienced sailor, was discovered in the Ottawa River four days after he was reported missing. Police have not released details regarding his death but they do not believe foul play is involved, the Citizen reports.
Cozzette's three-masted boat, the Elmo Earleywine, was discovered Saturday afternoon stuck on a shoal with the engine still running, CBC News reports.

On Cozzette’s Facebook page, he previously commented to a friend he has owned the 50-year-old Elmo Earlewine for 22 years. “Although she is a pretty boat, no one wants a wooden boat. She's a labor of love!” he wrote.
His obituary says Cozzette lived his life to the fullest and lived it with passion. “Whether it be cycling, running or sailing it was always an adventure. He touched many lives and shared a part of himself with all who knew him. From the Breakfast Club to the 5 o'clock Happy Hour Crew. His laughter, compassion and energy will be missed.”
