Is your bathroom a golden moldy?
If mold is a constant problem in the bathroom then this article may be of interest.

Are you constantly battling mold in your bathroom? In war, a General researches the enemy before committing resources and entering into a protracted battle: You are that General and your enemy is mold. Mold is similar to most army’s; it requires food and water to survive; remove either of two and mold will not grow and you win the battle but not always the war.
If you have spent hours scrubbing and disinfecting the bathroom only to have the mold return several weeks later then this article is for you. Mold has been in existence since before the recorded history of man and is capable of surviving and adapting. For example, a single mold spore can mature and reproduce an additional TRILLION mold spores in days! So all of your cleaning will help with surface mold but little for the airborne spores that have yet to “land” and possibly grow.
If the mold did return after an extensive cleaning then your bathroom is providing all the essential ingredients for growth. The most common being moisture (water)! Next is food, mold will eat anything organic as a food source, meaning anything that was once alive: cotton, paper, wood, cardboard, hair, paint, dirt and even your skin cells.

All bathrooms are inherently moist, so what can you do to reduce the humidity level in the bathroom?
- Always turn on the exhaust fan or open a window while bathing
- Remove excess water from shower wall with a squeegee
- Wipe down the entire shower/tub area
- Remove damp towels from bath
- Run exhaust fan for at least another 20 minutes
If you do not have an exhaust fan and have persistent mold issues consider having one installed that vents outside and with a wall timer, so the fan can run after you leave the bathroom. Reducing the moisture will go a long way of minimizing mold growth!
