Cops: 3 Stole Merchandise From An Elwood Store

The items were worth more than $2,600, police say.

Suffolk County police officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate three women they say stole merchandise from an Elwood store.

Police say three women filled two shopping carts with assorted merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying on Sept. 28, at approximately 1:20 p.m. When the women were approached outside the store by a store employee, the women fled, leaving the merchandise behind. The merchandise was worth more than $2,600.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
