Cops: Man Calls Stranger Demanding Massage

Here are some of the incidents Northport Police responded to recently. None of the defendants has been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. All complaints in the report are only alleged crimes under local investigation.
A Northport resident told police that a man phoned on Oct. 6 to say, “Open up the goddamn door, I’m here for my massage,” according to Northport police. Afraid to look outside, the woman called police instead. Police retrieved the number of the dialer from the woman’s caller ID. Police called the man, who said he dialed the wrong number and hadn’t meant to call the complainant. Police told the woman that the call was made in error, and no further action was necessary, police said.
Police spotted a woman driving on Fort Salonga Road at Laurel Avenue while using a cell phone on Oct. 6. A status check revealed that the driver’s licence was suspended. Police confiscated her license and forwarded it to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Driver Improvement Bureau. The woman was issued summonses for driving while using a cell phone and aggravated unlicensed operation.

A woman contacted police to report a possible Craigslist scam on Oct. 6. She told police that she had given her personal information to a person she met on Craigslist about an apartment rental in Nissequogue. She later discovered that the person was not the property owner. She got her deposit back, but not rental application. A report was filed with the Nissequogue Police Department as well as the Suffolk County Police Department’s Fourth Precinct since the alleged attempted crimes took place in their respective jurisdictions. She was advised to notify her creditors and financial institutions as a precaution.
Police responded to a call about a boat on a trailer illegally parked on Prospect Avenue on Oct. 8. Police issued summons and attempted to contact the owner to move the boat to no avail.

Police responded to a home invasion on Middleville Road on Oct. 8 to assist Suffolk County Police. Northport police remained on the scene until sufficient county police set up.
Police on patrol were told by a caller that a highly intoxicated man was trying to enter premises on Laurel Avenue with his dog on Oct. 9. Police arranged for a taxi to pick up the man, who was transported home.
A man on Woodbine Avenue was arrested for driving a 2009 Nissan, heading West on Main on Oct. 9. No further details were immediately available.
