East Northport Family's Halloween Bake Sale Raises $1.6K For People in Need
It was another successful Halloween for the Perles family.

The Perles family’s 12th annual Halloween Bake sale helped raise $1,610.06 for the Northport Food Pantry.
The family has held a bake sale in front of their Kalmia Street home in East Northport since 2005 to support people in need.
They didn’t beat their $2,300 fundraising record set in 2016, but the money raised wasn’t so bad for the holiday landing on a Monday.

“Mondays are tough but people are so generous,” the Perles family said. “So many people came.”
The family has raised more than $10,000 over the past 12 years.

Dylan Perles was 7 years old when she decided she wanted to raise money for people in need. She held her first Halloween bake sale in 2005 and raised $100 for the Northport Food Pantry.
Dylan, now 18 years old, missed the bake sale this year since she is away at college, but her sisters, Zoe, 16, and Kyra, 11, kept the tradition strong.
“We all face timed with Dylan while we counted the money so she could be part of it,” said the Perles family. “We'll deliver the money on Election Day, as per our tradition, when the kids are off from school (and Dylan will be home to join us!)”
