East Northport Middle School Students Head to Polls

East Northport Middle School hosted its annual student council officer’s election on Nov. 6-7 to coincide with Election Day.

According to Mr. Luberto and Mrs. Aiello, the advisors in charge of the election, the goal was to make the election as close to an authentic election as possible. Voting was conducted digitally on laptops and was completely voluntary. Voting booths and student registrars were set up in the lobby of the school where students, during lunch, registered and then voted. Voter turnout was up from last year to 75 percent school wide participation.
