East Northport Middle School To Reopen After Bomb Threat
Superintendent Marylou McDermott says investigation is ongoing.
At Thursday’s meeting of the Board of Education, Superintendent Marylou McDermott gave an update on the bomb threat earlier in the day which forced the closure of the
McDermott confirmed that at 11 a.m. Principal Joanne Kroon was informed that there was a message on the wall of the boys’ bathroom which indicated hat there was a bomb in the school. Students and staff were bused to which was closed for the day.
Kroon made a call to ENMS parents through the district’s ConnectEd phone system, and McDermott notified all parents in the district.
Pizza was ordered in for all students while police and district security searched the building. McDermott stressed that all the children were safe at all times and praised both staff and students for their calm and organized response to the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing but school will be open as usual today.
