Elwood HS Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian

ELWOOD, NY — Elwood-John H. Glenn High School announced its class of 2024 valedictorian, Christopher Sanelli, and salutatorian, Lauren LaMena.

Sanelli, an American Legion Boys State scholarship recipient, and LaMena, a National Merit Semifinalist in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program, boast "impressive academic careers," the district wrote.

Both seniors were named AP Scholars with Distinction and earned summa cum laude designation for achieving a weighted GPA between 96.50 and 100.

"First, I would like to congratulate Lauren on her amazing accomplishment," Sanelli said. "Also, I want to thank my family and friends for their continued support."

LaMena congratulated Sanelli in turn, calling it an "amazing accomplishment for him."

"While I am proud of myself, I recognize that none of this would have been possible without all of the support I have received from my community, teachers and family," she said. "I would just like to say a big thank you to them for everything they have done for me."
