Elwood Is #SarinaStrong For Teen Fighting Leukemia

A bone marrow registry drive and hair donation drive will be held next week. Heroes are wanted.

A bone marrow registry drive and hair donation drive will be held next week in support of an Elwood teen who was recently diagnosed with AML Leukemia.

Sarina Vito, 18, a senior at John. J Glenn High School, has been battling her disease at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park, where she will stay for many months while undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

The Elwood community has supported Vito in her battle by donating to her GoFundMe page, buying #SarinaStrong bracelets and now through this drive. Vito needs a bone marrow transplant and is looking for a match.
