Five Arraigned, Jailed Following Ft. Salonga Fight

The men charged with burglary and assault were arraigned Saturday.

The five men who were following a New Year's Eve brawl were arraigned Saturday before Suffolk County Judge Joseph A. Santorelli.

Four of the men, Frank Curra, Thomas Savocchi, Jacob Savocchi and Blaise Felice were held on $10,000 cash bail and $30,000 bond. Victor Smith was held on $25,000 cash and $50,000 bond. None of them have posted bail yet, according to court and Riverhead County Jail records.

All of the defendants were charged with two felonies: One count of assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon, a Class D felony, and burglary of a dwelling causing injury, a Class B felony. 

Temporary orders of protection were issued in favor of the victims.

Curra's defense attorney is George Duncan and he is scheduled to return to court Thursday, Jan. 6.

Thomas Savocchi was assigned an attorney from the Legal Aid Society. The Legal Aid Society provides counsel in criminal and family court matters to persons who, in the opinion of the court, are financially unable to afford private counsel. His next court date is also Jan. 6.

Thomas Savocchi is also due in court Feb. 9 on charges of possession of a weapon or a dangerous drug, posession of marijuanna and loitering, all misdemeanors. 

Jacob Savocchi's defense attorney is Brian Cameron and his next court date is Friday, Jan. 7.

Felice's next court date is Friday, Jan. 7.  He is also due in court Jan. 28 for an Oct. 3, 2010 arrest for driving while intoxicated, and July 7 for a May 14 charge of unlawful posession of marijuanna. 

Victor Smith's defense attorney is Craig McElwee.  He is due back in court Thursday, Jan. 6.
