The Honorable Ruth Bader and her Legacy-Equality for Women
Ruth Bader-Ginsburg stood for equality and pushed for the advancement of Women, as scholars-to pursue one's goals.

My deepest sympathies are extended to Ruth's family and those who directly worked with her. The loose of a great mind who took her gift and implemented actions is what we will miss-but-Ruth has been a source of inspiration for Women in Process. Ruth's rulings remain timeless as she was. Ruth was fierce-never allowing ailments to stop her from Speaking up. She reminds me of a few NYS Legislative Members who knew when to Push her Title and knew when to have some fun at work.
The rise to the U.S Supreme Court is the toughest accomplishment for a woman still-and to be nominated is an incredible accomplishment on the end of the candidates. This year-the 100th Year of Ruth's works, cases she rendered decisions on-brings to light how even now women have only been permitted to be Leaders for 100 years.
This weekend is about Ruth and her legacy-but with the next round of U.S. Supreme nominations coming forward-a female nomination has been deaf for 25 years-there have been opportunities to advance women within the Legal Profession to the U.S Supreme Court but they have fallen deaf on this Present Presidency. Nomination aspects to the U.S. Supreme Court are statutory in nature and there is time to consider. Selection going forward is not required until the Highest Court of the Land is in Session and hopefully Female Nominees will surface.

It's imperative for the next Nominee to carry on Ruth's Legacy on Women's equality as we're at the pinnacle standpoint on once again reducing the Rights of Women. The Democratic Party often is the Party to advance Female Candidates-because we understand the importance of Equality within Legislative Aspects. Postponing the Process is imperative until time has passed to honor Ruth and for due diligence be conducted on a Search. This is how to Celebrate Ruth's life. A Justice Nominee needs to continue Ruth's spirit-she is one that didn't always take herself so seriously and she knew when to interject humor into her day. This lightens the spirit of Law and she is the face of U.S. Supreme Court Justice-her signature Glasses is what brighten tough and well thought out decisions in her rendering.
Ruth stood for Equality in the Workforce-she embodied it. Ruth was an advocate for women to earn the same income for same job performance-she often spoke outside of her Chamber to Young Aspiring Minds. To carry on Ruth's mission-a mission that I carry as well-ensuring that Equality of Earnings is universal in the workforce-includes still today the need base within the NYS Legislature. Women are not equal earners within the NYS Legislature who have Tenure of Service. Equality of Earning- now more than ever-as we lost our voice in the highest land of the law may leave us wavering in our Heels for a bit. We, as female leaders within many professions-will not stand for anything less. Ruth simply would not stand for it.

To me, as a PolicyMaker-Ruth was someone to look towards to read her decisions to then introduce amendments or new rules to ensure that equality for Women remained strong in NYS. Somewhere along the line-NYS-lost this Mission. This year-this legislative session-the Women of Public Service-our cries for Fairness in Earnings-our Cries for Prevailing Wages in 2020-is what is required. Ruth embodies Women of Public Service and what they can achieve-her legacy will not be forgotten. Today is a good day to remind Governor Cuomo just how vitally important it is to sign bills on his desk that are waiting for his signature in Ruth's Honor. It's also a great day for Governor Cuomo to Hear this Editorial Message-and get the wheels started on the Maltese Fairness in Earnings Bill/Law so that the Women of NYS Legislature receive retroactive earnings for work performance. Legislative Bill Language within the Maltese Fairness in Earnings NYS Act will create an office so that other NYS Public Sector women who may have past earning claims as well can seek help. This is Ruth's Messages in her rendering. Ruth's background on this issue runs deep-this would be Commemorating some of her Life's work right here in New York State-one of Ruth's biggest supporters.
Again, my sympathies and reflect where you find Ruth in your day.
