ELWOOD, NY — Elwood Middle School was named a "School to Watch" by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform, the Elwood School District announced.

Elwood is one of two middle schools in New York to receive the initial designation this year and only one of 38 middle schools throughout the state (out of 600) to receive this recognition since the program was established.

"I commend the Elwood Middle School community for this recognition," Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Bossert said via news release. "It is a testament to the hard work of our entire staff, the dedication of our students and the ongoing support of our community. I am extremely proud that we are a model for other schools throughout our region, state and nation!"
