Maltese Calls out the Governor on the Women's Equal Pay Laws-2020

Maryann Maltese, Democrat, Former NYS Public Officer holding 2 Titles of Employment at the same time for 18.5 years of Service; Manager of Communications-Regional and Chief of Staff was erroneously underpaid for positions held while in State Legislative Service-and seeks justice Now. With Statewide Election upon us of November 3rd-Introduction of Legislation and Implementation thereof must be required effective immediately.

Maryann Maltese is calling out the Governor to build upon his Women's Platforms of 2014-2017 whereas the Governor promised to ensure Equality of Wages for Inactive and Active Female State Legislative Staff would be considered, introduced to correct it but then-left it at it's skeletal outline without any content of how NYS would ensure Equality of Earnings issued to those Women; like myself who have a valid Claim for outstanding earnings. No Legislative Enactments have occurred.

In 2104, The Governor; Andrew Cuomo ran on the Women's Equality Political Party Line (WEP), promoting the necessity for earnings which required reviews within the Public and Private Sectors-where is the Legislation for us Governor? We are Hardworking New Yorkers living here as well, raising families, being honest and good citizens within our private lives-but we have not yet received retroactive earnings that NYS owes women like me for outstanding work performances. As a Former Regional Manager for Downstate Operations; including Long Island and the 5 Boroughs-under my leadership team we beat Statewide and sometimes national percentages of getting out the vote or implementation of Bills into Laws. When I was at the Helm of Members offices -I took Members within the Legislature who's approval ratings were in the toilet after winning an election-and with hard work, tenacity, communications authored, constituent interactions with successes noted; won Tough districts/swing districts-the toughest races to win to their highest recorded point of 76% of the vote-that means Voter's from other political parties crossed over to do so-that My friends is not heard of and is cause for seeking retroactive bill pay of earnings.

On Average; Women Managers within the NYS Legislature earned 69cents for every dollar; it's far less than Private sector women who earn between 79-81cents for every dollar. Please keep this in your mind as now we listen once again; to our Presidential Candidates discussing their positions of HOW they are going to implement Equality of Wages. The word Fairness often associated with Earnings legislation-implies that one might accept less in earnings-and considering that this Legislative Introduction is corrective measure-the words Equal or Equality of Earnings is direct.

As this is the 100th Anniversary Anniversary of the Women's Movement-a proper celebration would be for the Governor and the Two Branches of the Legislature to recognize this mistake and make good on the promises to Women who have performed excellence in public service. Clearly, the way to advance women going forward within the NYS Legislature is to pay them equal wages for work performances agreed upon and rendered. By the passage of the Maltese Equality of Earnings Law in NYS-by NYS acknowledging the error of their employment way- we pass retroative bill language which will also provide a Means -a way; for other Female Public Officers who may have similar employment claims. To help Women advance in the workforce-we must ensure that Legislative Implementation occurs.

As we're edging up to the Presidential Election of November 3, 2020; friends-we're going to be contacted or receiving mailings regarding Candidate positions. I welcome them-I like to read them and ask questions-you should do the same.

As a Former Campaign Manager for 33 years for Federal and State Election Candidates-it's imperative this year-the 100 Anniversary of the Women's Movement to seriously ask these candidates-have you "Implemented Legislative Acts to Help Women in the Workforce". Then a tougher Question is-Have you introduced Legislative Bill's so that retroactive earnings are issued for those of us (women) to receive civil justice of back employment pay or introduced present day Bill Languages to ensure that women receive the proper educational tools to ensure they take pro-active measures when reviewing employment contracts presented to them.

Once NYS takes the Lead on those 2 legislative bills; that will provide the muscles and meat we desperately need within the Skeletal Framework of NYS's Women's Movement. These implementations ensure that Women will earn a wage equal to their male counterpart in the same employment roles based on experiences and work performances. If the answer is no that your Member can't provide you with Bill Number's or Legislation they have supported or introduced; then within Legislatures; both Federally and State; they dropped the ball this 100 Year of the Women's Movement. The Women's Movement has suffered due to COVID 19-but we can not permit that to be the Excuse-I don't accept it-that's why I'm writing articles to encourage other's to do the same.

I can write Election Rhetoric Every Hour-I'm a Pro at it, but I need some of my other Women in the Community-to step up; tell your story-and if you have a similar work situation as me-Underpaid-Multiple Job Titles where your employer did not provide you with Earnings for such-to reach out to me; or to your State Legislators for them to perform their duties and offer you guidance. What women need within NYS Public Service is for Equality of Earnings Law to Enacted-Implemented immediately-because that will send the Message that NYS is keeping it's promise to Women Now-in doing so-the Chains of that symbolic jail cell above picture posted; is sawed Finally. Women are Equal in all aspects of their lives when they Earn the same-this is the New Modern Women's Movement-and those that identify with us. Our Present Day Women's cause is Implementation of NYS Laws that acknowledge error in employment contracts previously provided by retroactive bill pay established-which flows outward to other Women who have similar claims in employment. WEP-Women's Equality Political Party-still has roots in NYS and their mission is to encourage women to join together on this issue by registering to vote as a Member of WEP.
