New York State Women's Suffrage Commission scheduled a few celebrations around NYS to honor Women who continue to work on supporting the continuation of our Rights to Vote and to run for Offices-that is the Modern reasons to continue to stay vigilant.

This Legislative Session being 2020 is the 100 Anniversary of 100 years of Women's Suffrage should include Fairness in Wages for Females of the NYS Public Sector. Legislative Bills should be introduced and enacted immediately as the Governor and his Staff pushed off correcting clear injustice within the NYS Legislature pay-scale. The Governor has in the last 3 sessions implemented changes for women in the Private Sector, but not within State Services. I will not be that kind of Leader in Albany-balancing the budget on the backs of Public Sector Female Staff. These women are as talented and dedicated to Public Service Life-and deserve Justice, said Maryann Maltese.

The Commission’s programs will celebrate the accomplishment of women’s suffrage and the central role of New Yorkers in this milestone, while also helping shape the future to ensure a more just and equitable society for all. Women shape the future of the Commissions efforts by ensuring that equality in wages are implemented within the NYS Legislature and that tenured Female staffers (inactive and active) receive retractive wages whereas Tenured Staffers in good standing and with demonstrated job performance receive due financial compensation for years of service provided and that present female employees where it is determined that their salaries do not meet NYS employment standards are corrected immediately-that's when Women in NYS have true Equality, said Maryann Maltese.

Last year, the Office of the Governor received a $40,000 increase and now Cuomo is publishing a book discussing his role on the COVID pandemic-a private matter-but before Female Staffers of the NYS Legislature receive due financial compensation. This is not justice-and this decision to not enact Fairness in Wages for Inactive or Active is the year to do so whether or not the Governor wants to give me credit for my advocacy on the matter is outrageous and a smack in the faces of Women within NYS Legislature. On behalf of Women who are tenured-present inactive State Staffers I proposed The Maltese Fairness in Wages bill proposal by calling upon NYS Senate and NYS Assembly to introduce a bill this legislative season to provide retroactive wages and salaries to women staffers, in particular Tier 3 and Tier 4; to receive fairness in wages for employment performances to be enacted this year-Our Year-the anniversary year of Our ability to become Leaders in Government-it's so far fallen on the Executive's deaf ears.

We have a female VP candidate in place, Ms. Harris-fantastic-and our Women Staffers with NYS Public Sector who have exemplified outstanding service to NYS-deserve retroactive wages to be awarded to us by Legislative acts to correct the injustice, said Maryann Maltese. I will not rest-until it is Done-and this is why I'm out of retirement Running for the NYS Assembly 12th AD-which by the way-has never been held by a Woman, said Maryann Maltese.

Women inside the Legislature-Our Staff who are not Union Members- We are the example of Public Service to respect and follow and sadly we are the ones who need wage increases and streamlining salary offerings across the Legislature to ensure that employment contracts signed between Female Legislative Staff and their Supervisors are "market rate salaries". said Maltese. I have 18 years of solid NYS Public Service Experiences underneath my belt or in my classic black backpack that tells me-I'm right. It's been far too long that Women Staffers within NYS Legislature have accepted mediocre Employment Contracts and granting contracts to Male staffers on average between 50-60% HIGHER in wages than Females is old practices outdated-and on the borderline of discriminatory actions by NYS, said Maryann Maltese.

August 26th; the 100th Year Anniversary of the Signing of the right of Suffrage was officially signed-this week is our week-because in multiple sectors of NYS-Chapters of Women's Organizations Storm Trooped throughout NYS and made it happen-with a few good men behind us, said Maltese. For me-Honoring that Historical Moment will be when NYS Legislature comes forward and corrects Inequality in wages for NYS Legislative Employees because it's our year-Female Legislative Staff-who rock the Legislature every day of the week-and we are the ones who are last, said Maltese. And if the Governor doesn't do this enacting fairness in wages for NYS Female Public Sector Employees-we're simply going to storm troop NYS localities once Social Distancing Mandates are removed with our Banners, perhaps our Kids along side us and encourage a walk out on the Capitol to get our message heard, said Maltese.
