Maltese reaches out to OMCE to endorse Maltese Equality Earnings
Maryann Maltese, State Employee Advocate-East Northport, promotes Equality of Earnings Law Implementation Measure this year with OMCE.

Maryann Maltese, Tenured State Legislative Staff; advocate for Women's Equality of Earnings is once again encouraging supporters of Women's Rights to step up to Governor Cuomo and Members of the State Legislature to sign the Maltese Equality of Earnings Law. The Passage of the Maltese Equality of Earnings Law will provide the legislative language Necessary for retroactive earnings to be paid to Maryann and others; where NYS acknowledged their Error (Mistake) in underpaying her earnings while in public service.
The OMCE-The Organization of NYS Management of Confidential Employees Union is the advocacy group of State Employees (Maltese is one) where we go out advocating for Legislative Action to take impact for State Employees.
Below is my email submission to OMCE today on behalf of State Employees of New York State and Women who are in need of Equality of Earnings Law within New York State.

"I hope this holiday season finds you rested and ready for our most important fight before the end of this session and working towards 2021.
I know OMCE is a fighter-heard from many of you while in State Public Service 1994-2013. It's always was a pleasure to discuss issues that are vital to our people.

The wheels have turned-Now Legislative Staff members are the ones who can no longer remain silent.
Women's Equality of Earnings for Legislative and Union Staff in NYS. The women who work for the 3 houses we are not union members and because of that we are the weakest link in the employment sector of NYS. NYS as our Employer took advantage of it-and provided us with inequitable Employment Contracts-undermining and underpaying us. I held 2 Employment Titles at the same time-paid only for one and now NYS needs to make good on the 2014 acknowledgment the Governor made on behalf of NYS as our Employer-that this will be corrected-and retroactive earnings provided.
I'm out of state service as of 2013-it's 2020 OMCE-and I have not accepted severance or collecting my state pension as I have tenure-but not the age to do so. NYS is holding my outstanding employment earnings hostile. That is unacceptable employment practices for NYS which is the 'Example" and at large. No employee waits 7 years for their Earnings-it's not a COLA based legislative package where I'm hoping that a higher or better COLA is added to my benefits-its earnings due to me.
I'm the Woman to base this Law off of-as Women who are employed with NYS and in the private sector do not have Equality of Earnings Law in NYS Statute. It's not in our Mckinney's (State Law Books) and thus NYS as the Employer is utilizing this disadvantage to their advantage in my case and for Women.
Women will never be truly equal in NYS if NYS doesn't State it as such-recognizing in Statute not resolutions or citations-Women's Equality of Earnings. In 2014-Cuomo publicly acknowledged NYS's wrong doing for women. But Bail reform went first. How is that even acceptable legislative practice?
My Law-finally requires NYS to issue my Retroactive Earnings and with that-Women have Equality of Earnings-it must be today and not later than December 31, 2020-because if we wait until the new class of legislators takes office-then we're at square one again-and Women's Equality of Earnings could be another decade down the line.-That is criminal mentality by the Executive if the office of the Executive believes I will wait another decade for my earnings.
I need your help-please encourage Membership and Chapters of Active Employees to ring the bell-sound the alarm.
It's the Governor that needs to wake up-not Female Staff Members.
An additional Point that perhaps OMCE wants to use-Petty Felons got bail reform law to assist them-prior to Women (law abiding who have and are Working) receipt of Equality of Earnings. It's the worse example for Women thus far-and as it is the 100th Anniversary Year of Women's Right to Vote which encompasses Employment Earnings; this year to make it less painful-Enactment of the Maltese Equality of Earnings Law.
I appreciate your time during Thanksgiving weekend. If a press conference virtually can be scheduled-let me know. Free today-Free Monday". Maltese's Statement.
