Police Identify Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Elwood Crash
The man lost control of his bike and struck his head on a curb Friday evening, police said.
Police identified Joseph Alyward, 44, of Greenlawn, as the motorcyclist who was critically injured in a crash on Little Plains Road in Huntington on Friday. Police said the investigation is continuing.

According to police, a 44-year-old man was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson Legend eastbound on Little Plains Road when he lost control of the bike and struck his head on a curb near Hillock Court in Elwood at 6:30 p.m.
The man was luckily wearing a helmet.

He was transported to Stony Brook Hospital via Suffolk County Police Helicopter in critical condition.
No other vehicles were reportedly involved in the crash. Detectives ask anyone who may have witnessed this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
