Narcotics Seized From Northport Drug Dealer's Home: Police

BREAKING: The man has 11 prior arrests, police say.

A man who was selling narcotics in and around the Northport area was arrested Tuesday morning and now faces multiple drug charges, police say.

According to authorities, Northport Police began investigating Robert Smith, 44, of Brentwood, after receiving information that he was selling narcotics.

As a result of the investigation, police say a search warrant executed at Smith’s Arthur Street home at 6:03 a.m. led to the recovery of:

  • 66 grams of crack cocaine (street value of $2,600)
  • 60 grams of heroin (street value of $1,500)
  • $3,700 in cash

Smith, who has 11 prior arrests, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia (drug packaging and drug scales).

He will be arraigned at Suffolk County First District Court.
