Northport Athlete To Run Cross Country In College After Breakout Senior Year

Caren Shin showed great improvement from her freshman year to her senior year as a runner.

Northport High School senior Caren Shin recently signed her national letter of intent to run cross country for Keiser University in the fall.

With her coach Eric Visconti standing by her side, Shin proudly committed to the school. A cross country runner for all four years of high school, Shin also participated in track and field for various seasons throughout her high school career.

She showed great improvement from her freshman to her senior year as a runner. Although she was not fast enough her freshman, sophomore and junior year to make the top varsity seven, a scoring cross country team, Shin persevered and earned a top spot as one of the seven in her senior year. She proved to be a valued member of the team, consistently scoring.
