You've seen the shot Section I champ New Rochelle hit. It's been replayed on ESPN, Good Morning America and every website this side of China. Khalil Edney sank a 60-foot heave as time expired to stun powerhouse Mount Vernon, 61-60.
New Rochelle finished the regular season at 9-9, but its pressure defense has delivered in the playoffs. The Huguenots have the look of a team of destiny.

But that's Northport's story too. No one expected first-year Coach Andrew D’Eloia to lead the Tigers to a 22-2 season and the program's first Long Island title since 1995.
Northport's inside-out combination of Luke Petrosak and Matt Smith are now just two wins shy of a state championship.
So which feel-good storyline will prevail? The big shots from New Rochelle have everyone's attention. But the under-the-radar Tigers prefer it that way.
