Suffolk Charity Raises $1,550 For Cancer Research
The Chloe Belle Foundation was started in memory of a Northport woman who battled leukemia.

NORTHPORT, NY — The Chloe Belle Foundation raised more than $1,500 for cancer research.
The charity, launched in memory of Chloe Lindberg in 2022, sent a check worth $1,553.30 to Dr. Huda Salman’s research and work at the Indiana School of Medicine: The Brown Center for Immunotherapy. More than $200 of the money fundraised was used for donations to local children and adults with cancer.
Chloe Lindberg, who lived in Northport, died of a rare form of leukemia at 26 in January 2021.

Remi Lindberg, Chloe's older sister who co-founded the charity, said she is "so excited and proud" of the fundraiser for Salman's research.
"It was the foundation's very first fundraiser, so it was a big accomplishment," Remi told Patch.

The fundraiser was extra special to the Lindberg family because Salman was Chloe's hematologist and oncologist.
"Dr. Salman is a genius who is making incredible strides in cancer search/the immunotherapy field and transforming the future of cancer treatment with this amazing technology," Remi said. "There will never be another Chloe. But there will be another person with her cancer. Huda Salman became the executive director shortly after Chloe's death, and I believe our missions have collided at the same time and that is to find better treatments for this disease."
The Chloe Belle Foundation's mission is to bring joy to sick children and young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer. People can donate to The Chloe Belle Foundation here.
Remi said donating to Salman's research is a direct involvement in moving forward as a society with advancements in cancer treatments.
"We have all been touched by cancer, and I felt that donating would not only be honoring Chloe, but it is also a way for us to honor and remember everyone who has passed from this horrible illness. I'm so happy that I chose them as the recipient of our first fundraiser. It is extremely important to me that everyone who donated knows that their loved ones are honored by their generosity. I am so passionate about the foundation, because it honors my sister who I loved more than anything."
There's a bigger picture, though, Remi said.
"It is honoring everyone who is diagnosed, living and passed, with cancer, and it is one step closer to curing cancer. I desperately want to see the world change."
Previously, The Chloe Belle Foundation donated toys to the Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Hassenfeld Children's Hospital.
