Northport Court Report: Dispositions and an Arraignment
A quiet night saw two dispositions and an arraignment in a custody case.
Arraignments
Thirty-three-year-old Eatons Neck resident Christopher Carbone was arraigned in Northport court on April 19 on a second-degree harassment charge. The incident in question occurred at 20 Laurel Avenue last Friday, April 16. At approximately 2 p.m., Carbone allegedly grabbed a woman by the neck and crotch and threatened her.
Carbone surrendered to Northport police at 5p.m. Monday on the date of his court appearance. He was produced from the Police Department's holding cell for his court appearance. He appeared in court with his attorney, who entered a not guilty plea on his client's behalf. A temporary order of protection was issued against him in favor of the victim, who he is in an ongoing custody battle with in regard to their son. He was released on his own recognizance and will next appear in court on June 6.
Also arraigned was Southampton resident (NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law 509 01). He was sentenced to the maximum $300 fine with an $85 surcharge, which was paid at the time of his appearance.

Adjournments
Eighteen-year-old Zachary Baum was back in court facing DWI charges stemming from an incident after he struck several cars on Church Street as the drivers were preparing to leave following a funeral mass. His attorney presented letters from Baum's therapist as well as leaders from his Boy Scout troop on his behalf. Baum was reportedly preparing to obtain his Eagle Scout award when the accident took place. His case was adjourned until June 6 so his lawyer could deal with two pending matters in federal court.
Edward Yule, the attorney for William Koski, who faces multiple DWI charges, appeared in court and reported to Judge Senzer that a disposition in the case was close. He requested a month to finalize it, and was granted until May 23. Koski, who is in custody, had his appearance waived.

A pending adjournment in contemplation of dismissal for on a disorderly conduct charge (in lieu of a trial) was pushed back one week as his attorney was unable to appear in court due to Passover.
Dispositions
Fourty-two-year-old Northport resident a reduction to a violation from a crime of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle charge (VTL 511 1A). He was sentenced to the minimum $200 fine with an $85 surcharge.
Twenty-year-old Joseph Roberto had a stop sign violation reduced to a 1201-A parking ticket. He was sentenced to a $25 fine.
With preliminary jurisdiction over felonies and general trial jurisdiction over misdemeanors, traffic infractions and local ordinance violations, Village Court is in session every Monday at 7 p.m. except state holidays in .
