“I thank all community residents who took the time to vote today and for their support of the referendum,” Superintendent of Schools Robert Banzer said on the school district website. “Through this support, we will be able to make improvements that will enhance our instructional learning, upgrade our physical education and athletic facilities for students and the greater community, and make needed infrastructure improvements that are long overdue. As we move through the process of finalizing plans and submitting them to the State Education Department for approval, we will continue to keep the community updated on our progress. Thank you again!”
The bond issue looks to replace aging infrastructure items, improve and modernize classroom space as well as provide students and the community with improved physical education and athletic facilities. For more information, read the voter information fact sheet here.

The district said the average taxpayer in the school district would pay an additional $122 per year.
The district says about 90 percent of the project included in the proposed plan are eligible for a NYS building at at a 20 percent rate, reducing the cost impact to residents. A portion of the new debt was timed to “replace” debt that expires in the near future, the district says.
