“Congratulations to all of the student-athletes, coaches and faculty that work hard every day to ensure that our students excel in both the classroom and on the athletic fields,” said Paul Klimuszko, Northport-East Northport Director of Physical Education, Athletics and Health.
NYSPHSAA established the program during the 2002-03 school year to honor those schools that effectively emphasize the importance of academic success with their student-athletes. It also unites varsity coaches in challenging their teams to achieve a statewide honor in addition to the Scholar/Athlete Team Award, which was initiated in the 1991-92 school year.
