Highlight: Northport girls played another exciting game on Sunday, beating GC 10-4. The girls played strongly on both sides of the field, dominating the game from the start. Shea Contino scored the 1st goal just minutes into the game and Northport continued their offensive attack, adding goals from Julia Koenig, Kate McLam, Olivia Mule, Kiley McGorry and Kerry Dennin. Assists from Nat Miller, Lauren Mateyunas, Izzy Testa, Jillian Preston and team goalie, Diana Glancy were a critical part of the offensive play this week. GC had many shots but Glancy stood strong, making multiple saves in goal. She was well supported on defense by Preston, Testa and Juliana Shrodes. Fast-breaks from Mackenzie Katz and Miller kept the pressure on as did great ground ball work by Mateyunas. McGorry provided terrific support behind the net and Northport kept the ball at their end of the field for the majority of the game. It was an amazing team effort this week and the girls are ready for the next game vs Huntington on 4/21
