Northport Man Seriously Hurt in ATV Crash
The crash occurred early Sunday morning, police say.

CENTERPORT, NY – A 32-year-old Northport man was seriously in an ATV crash in Centerport early Sunday morning, police said.
According to police, Joseph Pace was riding a 2011 Polaris ATV west on Jefferson Street, near Washington Drive, when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and it overturned at about 1:10 p.m.
Pace was transported by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The Centerport Fire Department responded to the scene with an ambulance, engine and paramedic responder unit under the command of Second Assistant Chief Richard Miltner. The paramedic evaluated the patient and determined that the injuries required transport to a trauma center. The Suffolk Police medivac helicopter was requested and two Centerport fire engines secured the landing zone for the helicopter at Fleets Cove Beach on Fleets Cove Road.
The ATV was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the Second Squad 631-852-8252.
