Northport Nautical Mile - June 18th

Summer in the Historic Village of Northport, NY kicks off on June 18th with the Northport Nautical Mile, Farmers Market, and the Annual Blessing of the Fleet.

Northport Village, known for its strong community spirit and beautiful waterfront location is hosting the 2nd annual Northport Nautical Mile footrace on Saturday June 18th at 9:00am.

The race is a true nautical mile distance (1.15 miles) that starts at the Laurel Avenue Brosnan School building and heads north to Main Street, then a straight downhill path through the heart of the village ending at the waterfront. At the finish line, runners will find a Farmers Market already in progress and share in the awards and raffle ceremony. Immediately following will be the annual Blessing of the Fleet in the harbor where a parade of boats will pass the village dock to receive a ceremonial blessing for a safe and enjoyable boating season from local clergy and officials.

It will be a fantastic day and a great way to kickoff summer with friends and family. The race is the perfect distance for families and speedsters alike, and the post race atmosphere in the park is second to none.
