- Carlos Lennon, 36, of Commack, was working at the Northport Hotel on Oct. 21 when police said he stole a man's credit card. A man went to the hotel, at 225 Main Street, around 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 to have a beverage at the bar, police said. When he ordered his drink, he opened a running tab and gave his Discover credit card to the bartender to hold until he closed his tab, police said. The man told police that while he was having his drink, he was approached by the hotel manager who told him that one of his employees might have stolen his credit card from behind the bar and that the employee left the hotel before his shift ended, police said. A Discover representative told him no additional purchases were made on the card, police said. Just after 1 a.m. Oct. 22, an officer saw a man wearing a Northport Hotel staff uniform walking westbound on Main Street, and he matched the description of the employee who stole the card, police said. Police interviewed the man and saw his name tag read "Carlos," and the employee identified himself as Carlos Lennon, police said. The officer also saw a credit card sticking out of Lennon's front vest jacket, police said. When questioned about it, Lennon said, "You're good, I forgot that was in there," police said. The credit card was identified as the stolen item, and Lennon was arrested, police said. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
