Northport Police Blotter: Boat Damaged, Batteries Stolen, 3 Arrests and More

The following information was supplied by the Northport Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.
Northport poolice arrested Christian Rosado, 30, of Scudder Avenue Tuesday, July 5 at 1:05 a.m. following a call reporting a domestic incident. While interviewing the subject, police allege that Rosado became belligerent and pushed the police officer's right arm. In a search of the defendant pursuant to arrest, he was found to be in possession of a glass pipe with marijuana residue and a small digital scale with unknown white residue on its surface. He was processed and released on his own recognizance.
Robert Sturner, 45, of School Street, surrendered himself Tuesday, July 5 at 9:58 a.m. at the request of police for violating and active Order of Protection issued by Judge Paul H. Senzer. He was processed and held for arraignment, which took place at 4 p.m. by Senzer and released on his own recognizance.

Police arrested Patrick Pannone, 27, of Woodbine Avenue, Monday, July 4 at 11:49 p.m. following a report from a complainant that Pannone choked her, put his hand over her mouth and threw her up against the wall. The complainant received a physical injury with a large lump on her head and coughed up blood in the sink. Pannone was taken to police headquarters and arraigned by Judge Paul H. Senzer.
Police received a report Tuesday, July 5 at 9:15 a.m. of an unknown person tying a boater's docklines tight causing the boat to be unable to be moved. Also, a blue Igloo cooler was missing valued at $300. Also, as a result of the line being tied too tight, the aft top of the vessel separated from the gunwales. Incident was forwarded to the village detective for follow up.

Police received a report Monday, July 4 at 11:55 p.m. of subjects in a black Nissan Altima shooting pedestrians and cars with paintballs. Police were unable to locate the Altima.
Police received a report of a 'found child' on Woodbine Avenue Monday, July 4 at 10:04 p.m. Police interviewed the child who stated he was waiting for his mother and couldn't find her.
Police received a report from Northport Village employees that some time between Thursday, June 30 at 3 p.m. and July 3 at 8 a.m. someone removed four batteries from Northport Highway Department vehicles. Property value estimated to be $400.
Police received a report Friday, July 1 at 1:03 p.m. to assist with the report of a person impaled on a boat cleat. Upon arrival, the injured party was already on a Marine Bravo boat and was being treated by rescue personnel.
Police received a report Friday, July 1 at 1:08 a.m. of youths in the park drinking beer. Police found a group of youths in the area but they were not drinking beer nor did they have beer on them.
Police received a report Thursday, June 30 at 7:47 a.m. of a subject possibly passed out on the grass on Soper Avenue. Police interviewed the subject who stated she was sunbathing. She was not intoxicated and appeared to be in good health.
Police received a complaint Thursday, June 30 at 7:13 a.m. from an employee of the having a dispute with a customer who was angry that she had opened several minutes late. The situation was resolved and the customer was advised to find a new laundromat.
Police received a report Thursday, June 30 at 5:15 a.m. of a group of youths "cursing and smoking an unknown substance" near Jay Court. Police determined that the smoking substance was a cigarette and that the group had a bag containing eight cans of Joose, a malt-based alcoholic beverage. The youths were advised of the complaint but unable to determine ownership of alcohol. The alcohol was confiscated and destroyed and the group was dispersed.
Police responded Tuesday, June 28 to for a report of a female child with a leg injury. Police determined that a juvenile had fallen off of a seesaw and landed under one of the seats, which subsequently fell onto her left, upper leg causing a laceration approximately five inches in length. Northport Fire Department Rescue Squad responded and transported the juvenile to Huntington Hospital. The report was forwarded to Village Administrator Gene Guido to have the seesaw inspected.
Police responded to Northport Village Park Monday, June 27 at 11:03 p.m. for a report of youths skateboarding in the gazebo. Upon arrival, police warned, admonished and dispersed the youth.
Police responded to a Soundcrest Avenue home Monday, June 27 at 7:06 p.m. for a report of smoke filling up the caller's house. Police ensured that everyone was out of the house while the Northport Fire Department located the source of the smoke and extinguished the same.
Police received a report of Sunday, June 26 at 11:25 of a loud party on West Scudder Place. A resident agreed that the partygoers would lower their voices for the evening.
Police received a report Sunday, June 26 at 8:57 p.m. of a loud party on Whispering Fields Drive with possible underage drinking. Police interviewed the homeowner shoo said she was present and supervising the party. She agreed to lower the music.
Two Burr Avenue residents called police to report a property line dispute Sunday, June 26 at 3:35 p.m. The pair was advised to contact Northport Village code compliance to resolve the conflict.
Police received a report Saturday, June 25 at 10:38 p.m. of two suspicious subjects sitting in a vehicle on Maple Avenue. Police interviewed the couple that said they were simply having a private conversation. The subjects were asked to return to the gathering they were attending.
Police received a report Saturday, June 25 at 8:27 p.m. of an unconscious female lying on the ground by Church Street at the shopping center. Rescue Squad took the woman, who appeared to be intoxicated, to Her spouse was also notified.
Police received a call Saturday, June 25 at 8:22 a.m. reporting a continuously howling dog on Fox Lane. Police identified the dog and its owner who agreed to take the dog inside.
A Terry Road woman called police Saturday, June 25 at 12:52 a.m. to report that she was afraid of her husband. Upon arrival, police determined that the woman had woken up her husband to ask him where her cigarettes were and for more information about an upcoming bridal shower. She said he refused to answer her. She did not articulate her reason for initially stating that she was afraid of her husband. She did agree to wait until morning to continue her questions for her husband.
Police received an anonymous complaint by a man who said he was almost attacked by a large German Shepherd off his leash on Main Street Friday, June 24 at 11:19 p.m. Police canvassed the area but were unable t find the dog or his owner.
Police received a call Friday, June 24 at 9:33 p.m. of two people arguing at a Soper Avenue house. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the brother of the homeowner was asked to check on the homeowner's son because she was out of town. When he arrived, he found his nephew had a small campfire in the back yard. Words were exchanged when he told his nephew to extinguish the fire. Police admonished the youth regarding the outdoor burning.
Police received a report Friday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m. of a trailer parked on Nautilus Avenue making it difficult to see on a turn. Police placed cones around the trailer in an effort to make it more visible and attempts were made to contact the owner.
A Sailfish Place resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked with an occupant inside Friday, June 24 at 3:18 p.m. Upon interviewing the occupant, it was discovered he was providing a car service for a client.
Police received a report Thursday, June 23 at 9 p.m. of a female breaking the windows of the doctor's office. Police interviewed a woman at the scene who stated she is an employee of the office and accidentally broke a window while moving some metal boxes.
Police received a call reporting a suspicious vehicle parked on Mar-Kan Drive Thursday, June 23 at 2:21 p.m. Upon arrival, police interviewed the subject who stated that he had just performed energy efficiency tests at local residences and was completing his paperwork. He properly identified himself.
Several Main Street businesses called police Thursday, June 23 to report water damage as a result of street flooding due to extreme rainstorm level. Reports were generated for insurance purposes. At least one Ocean Avenue homeowner reported the same.
Northport police received a call Thursday, June 23 at 10 a.m. of numerous cars parked illegally on Dogwood Road by during the 5th grade moving up ceremony. Police issued appropriate summonses.
