Northport Police Blotter: Woman Reports $434 Of Unauthorized Charges
ALSO: A truck got wedged in pavement and had to be removed; handbag stolen from car; graffiti found; sick raccoon put down, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Oct. 21 through Oct. 27.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A man was charged with petty larceny after police said he stole a handbag from an unlocked vehicle on Elizabeth Avenue on Oct. 21.
- A sick raccoon was euthanized by police on Main Street on Oct. 22 and disposed of.
- Graffiti was found in the men's bathroom of Village Park on Oct. 22. Police took photos of the graffiti, and the highway department painted over it.
- A woman reported unauthorized charges on her checking account on Oct. 24. The woman said she checked her bank checking account and noticed an unusual charge of $434.50 from an unknown company. The woman said she told her financial institution and a hold was immediately put on her checking account. The woman said she was advised to document the incident and that the funds would be reimbursed. No other charges were found on any of her accounts, she said.
- A woman reported unauthorized charges on her checking account on Oct. 24. The woman said she checked her bank checking account and noticed an unusual charge of $8.99 from Amazon. The woman said she told her financial institution and a hold was immediately put on her checking account and her Debit card was canceled. The woman said she was advised to document the incident and that the funds would be reimbursed. No other charges were found on any of her accounts, she said.
- A truck got wedged into the pavement on Logan Hill Road on Oct. 24. A heavy duty tow truck was needed to dislodge it.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a black Mercedes sedan left in a 20-minute spot all day on Main Street on Oct. 25.
- Landscapers working on McKinney Avenue on Oct. 27 were told they could not work in the village on a Sunday. The employee left the area.
