Northport Police to Increase Patrols on Halloween
The Northport Police Department announced the extra safety measures they will be taking this holiday.

The Northport Police Department announced it will implement increased patrols Monday to ensure the safety of its residents this Halloween.
The department also wants to remind residents to call 9-1-1 to report any suspicious activities.

- Make sure trick-or-treaters are always with an adult.
- Always walk on sidewalks when they are available and only cross the street at corners.
- Limit trick-or-treating to daylight hours. If you are trick-or-treating later in the day, bring flashlights, reflective gear and/or wear reflective clothing.
- Parents should examine their children's candy to make sure it is safe for them to eat.
- Motorists are advised stay alert and drive with extreme caution. Watch for children crossing or walking in the street.
