Northport Police Report: Kids Pass Out from Carbon Monoxide; Officers Suffer Minor Injuries

Here are some of the incidents Northport Police responded to recently. None of the defendants has been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. All complaints in the report are only alleged crimes under local investigation.
Police responded to a call on Sept. 29 on Fort Salonga Road of two children who had passed out. Upon arrival, the children were located in the rear yard of the residence conscious but having difficulty standing and breathing. It was determined that there was a high level of carbon monoxide within the residence. Police remained on scene until a sufficient number of Suffolk County Police units arrived, according to a police report.
Police responded to a call on Oct. 2 on Burt Avenue for a report of door-to-door soliciting. Police arrived to find that the person in question was a representative of Andersen windows. Police advised the rep of the village code prohibiting solicitation, and he agreed to cease his activities within the Village.

Police received a report of damage to the rear window of a vehicle on Main Street on Oct. 2.
Police on patrol were flagged down about a domestic incident on Oct. 3 on Franklin Street. Police arrested a man for third-degree assault and resisting arrest.

Police responded to a report of domestic assault on Butler Place. While making an authorized arrest, an officer officer suffered a laceration to his finger. Another officer suffered a minor laceration to his wrist on Oct. 3. Northport Rescue responded and transported aided to St. Catherine’s Hospital.
Police responded to a report of a fallen tree limb resting on a cable line on Laurel Street Oct. 4. Upon arrival, police learned that the resident had contacted a tree service, which was responding. The tree limb and tree were both located on private property. The area was coned off. Cablevision notified of the situation.
An East Northport man on Fairlee Drive received a field appearance ticket in lieu of arrest for unlawful possession of marijuana on Oct. 4.
