Northport Students Selected For Special Musical Experience
The students participated in a recording studio session with vocal training from legendary singer, actress and song-writer Debbie Gibson.
Two Norwood Avenue Elementary School students were recently selected as winners in Debbie Gibson’s Electric Youth Music Contest under the encouragement of their music teacher, Mrs. Edwards. The students won the exciting opportunity to participate in a recording studio session with vocal training from legendary singer, actress and song-writer Debbie Gibson.
Fourth-grader Kaitlin Gardella was chosen based on a video that she submitted of herself singing and playing the ukulele. She participated in a vocal workshop at a recording studio with Ms. Gibson and was coached one-on-one in recording the song “Lips are Movin’” by Meghan Trainer.
Fifth-grader Mckenzie Maniscalco also entered the contest and was thrilled to meet with Debbie Gibson.
“It was so much fun to be able to work with kids from other towns,” said Maniscalco. “I loved going in the recording studio with Ms. Gibson.”
