Police Log: 911 Call at Laurel Avenue School, Women Banned From Laundromat

Monday, Aug. 1
At 7:48 p.m., police received a report that a customer left The Purple Elephant, located on Fort Salonga Road, without paying.

At 8:59 a.m., police received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Church Street with the drivers having a possible fight. Officers responded to the scene and were unable to locate the accident.
At 10:09 a.m., police received a report of a confused man walking in the roadway on Franklin Street. The man told police he was suffering from a medical emergency. Northport Rescue responded to the scene and transported the man to Huntington Hospital.

Thursday, Aug. 4
At 7:16 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Fort Salonga Road. Officers assisted Suffolk County Police with traffic control until the vehicles were removed from the scene.
At 5:48 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at The Clothes Line Laundry on Scudder Avenue in which two women were yelling at the store’s manager over an incident that occurred the day before. The women were subsequently banned from the store for the next year.
At 2:58 p.m., police responded to a report of a boat’s cabin area billowing smoke in Northport Harbor. The Northport Fire Department was notified and safely removed the boat owner from the vessel. The cause of the fire was from diesel smoke from the engine compartment.
At 9:37 p.m., police received a report of a wooden bench stolen from a Hawkins Drive property. Police say a man took the bench and brought it to Willow Beach. Officers recovered the bench.
At 10:19 p.m., police received an abandoned 911 call from Laurel Avenue School. Officers responded to the scene and were unable to determine who made the call.
