Police Log: Drug Possession, Teens Damage Fence, Man Shoves Woman
Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Saturday, Oct. 1
At 1:53 a.m., police received a report of an electrical fire on Reservoir Avenue. The Northport Fire Department responded to the scene and located a small fire in the fuse box. Power to the home was shut off and the fire was extinguished. The home was temporarily without power.
At 11:55 a.m., police received a report of a man walking and looking into backyards on Short Street. Officers spoke to the man who said he was walking in the neighborhood and admiring yards. No further action was taken.

At 11:28 p.m., police responded to Main Street for a report of an argument between a woman and an unknown man with spiky hair and tattoos. Witnesses said the man also shoved the woman to the ground. Officers arrived to the scene and said the woman was extremely uncooperative. The woman said “nothing happened, this is classic Northport overreaction.” No further action was taken.

At 12:17 a.m., Eric Thompson, 33, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on Laurel Avenue for resisting arrest, multiple counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana.

At 1:30 p.m., police responded to an Amy Court location to assist Suffolk Police in stopping three juveniles that damaged a fence. The officers stayed with the juveniles until SCPD arrived along with one of the juvenile's parents.
At 3:45 p.m., police received a report of a possible fake rock on Constitution Square. Police arrived to the scene and determined the rock was a rodent trap set up by the Northport Highway Department.
