Police Log: DWI Arrest After Crash, Resident Puts up Illegal 'No Parking' Sign

Monday, Sept. 26
At 7:40 p.m., a 46-year-old Northport woman was arrested for petty larceny on Fort Salonga Road.

At 11:30 a.m., police received a report of multiple vehicles parked in a no parking zone on Soper Avenue. Authorities arrived to the location to find only one vehicle in the roadway and the no parking sign was found to be put up illegally by a resident. Officers interviewed the resident who was told to remove the sign immediately.
At 4 p.m., police received a report of items stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Norwood Avenue. A wallet that contained a driver’s license, thirty dollars in cash, a Master debit card and a work ID were stolen from the center console.

Wednesday, Sept. 28
At 1:16 p.m., police responded to a report of a woman who suffered from memory loss after a fall on Lincoln Avenue. She was taken to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue.
At 2:11 p.m., police responded to a suspicious event in which a man had a doll in his passenger seat on Constitution Square. The man told police it was a recent purchase and he didn’t get a chance to bring it home yet.
Thursday, Sept. 29
At 8:25 p.m., police responded to a Fort Salonga Road location for a man lying on the sidewalk. Police interviewed the man who said he was just reading. He was escorted back to his residence.
Friday, Sept. 30
At 2:22 a.m., Jarol Giron, 30, of Northport, was arrested for DWI after being involved in a single-car accident on Fort Salonga Road.
