Police Log: DWI Arrest, Driver's License Confiscated, Medicine Stolen

Tuesday, Feb. 16
At 3:01 p.m., police reported a fire on Mar-Kan Drive where a wire in the rear yard was arcing and sparking. Upon arrival, police observed the wire had broken and was on the ground, cutting out power to the area. PSEG was notified.

At 10:30 a.m., police observed a 1984 Chevrolet pickup traveling eastbound on Main Street with a cracked windshield and a suspended registration. A status check of the motorist’s driver’s license revealed his license was suspended. Officer confiscated the driver’s license and issued him a summons. The license was sent to the Driver Improvement Bureau in Albany.

At 3:30 p.m., police reported petty larceny in which a man came into police headquarters to report that four bottles of medicine were reportedly delivered to his mailbox, but he never received a package.
At 11:40 p.m., Alexander Lawrence, 25, of Bayport was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Fort Salonga Road. Authorities issued a traffic stop after Lawrence failed to stop while turning right on red, made an unsafe lane change and was speeding, police said.
