Police Log: Fired Employee Refuses to Leave, Report of ATV Accident

Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Monday, Feb. 6

At 6:48 p.m., police responded to Petport Pet Supply on Main Street for a report of harassment in which an employee who was fired was refusing to leave the store.

At 1:29 p.m., police responded to a report of a shattered car window on Stanton Street. The car owner told police she parked the vehicle in her driveway earlier in the day and when she returned to the vehicle, the rear window was intact, but had shattered. Police said there were no signs of criminal intent.

At 4:29 p.m., police responded to a report of a possible accident involving an ATV on Willis Street. Officers canvassed the area to no avail.

Thursday, Feb. 9

There were several reports throughout the day for disabled vehicles due to the snow.

At 7:42 p.m., police received a report of two men, who appeared to be suspicious, walking around the outside of a Clipper Drive home then driving off in an unknown direction. Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, who said he and his friends were looking to make money by shoveling snow. Police said their statement proved to be true. The driver was issued a traffic summons for having no license to operate a vehicle.
