Police Log: Four Loko Arrest, DWI Arrest, Seizure on School Basketball Court

Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Monday, Jan. 30

At 5:37 p.m., a man requested police to check the welfare of his two sons after he said he spoke to his oldest son on the phone and could hear his other son yelling in the background. Police responded to the Highland Avenue location and determined the son was “acting hyper” after “eating a lot of sugar.”

At 1:06 a.m., Christopher Cedfeldt, 50, of East Northport, was arrested and charged with DWI and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was pulled over for speeding and passing a red traffic light on Elwood Road and Church Street.

At 11:35 a.m., a 39-year-old Syosset man was arrested for consuming alcohol in public on Fort Salonga Road. Police say he was found to be in possession of a Four Loko in a Big Gulp cup. An investigation found he was wanted by Nassau County on three arrest warrants.

Friday, Feb. 3

At 10:53 p.m., police responded to Laurel Avenue School for a report of a male youth who had a seizure while playing basketball. The boy was transported to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue.

Sunday, Feb. 5

At 2:02 a.m., a 22-year-old West Hempstead man was arrested for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and multiple traffic violations on Reservoir Avenue.
