Police Log: Overturned Vehicle, Stolen $500 Tailgate in Northport

Monday, Jan. 2
At 4:32 a.m., police responded to a Lincoln Avenue location for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers determined the vehicle was an airport limousine service awaiting a fare.

At 9:59 a.m., police received a report of two hang-up calls to the fire department’s phone from a Bluff Point Road location. Officers arrived to the location and did not find anyone there and the home appeared to be in order. The fire department was able to get in contact with the person who made the calls, who said he accidentally dialed the number and was not in need of emergency assistance.
At 10:47 a.m., police reported petty larceny in which someone stole the tailgate from a 2004 Dodge on Bayview Avenue. The estimated value of the tailgate is $500.

Wednesday, Jan. 4
At 10:53 a.m., police assisted Suffolk Police with an overturned vehicle on Dickinson Avenue. Northport Police helped with traffic until enough SCPD units arrived.
At 5:42 p.m., police responded to a Laurel Avenue location to help a confused woman who was asking for directions. Officers determined the woman was not used to driving at night, so they escorted her to McDonalds where her son gave her a ride home.
Friday, Jan. 6
At 11:28 p.m., police responded to an Oak Street location for a report of a loud party. Officers told the resident to lower the music and no further action was taken.
