Police Log: Person Spots Dead Dog in Northport Harbor
Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Sunday, May 2
At 11:34 a.m., police reported a village code violation in which an ice cream vendor was possibly operating without a permit on Clipper Drive. Officers located the vendor who was told about the requirement that is needed to solicit in Northport. The vendor left without incident.
At 1:37 p.m., police responded to an adult female who fell in the street on Main Street. She was transported to Huntington Hospital by Northport Fire and Rescue.

At 4 p.m., police reported a small brushfire at Northsport Athletic Facility. Northport Fire Department located and extinguished the brushfire.
Monday, May 3

At 10:49 a.m., police responded to a 84-year-old man with injuries after a fall on Main Street. Officers said the man tripped over a curb and suffered head, facial and right arm lacerations. He was transported to Huntington Hospital.
At 11:19 a.m., police received a report that there was a dead dog in the water in Northport Harbor. Officers searched the harbor and did not locate the animal.
At 4:50 p.m., police reported found property in which a person turned in a wallet that contained $135 and personal papers on Larkfield Road. The wallet owner was contacted and picked up her property.
Tuesday, May 5
At 10:36 p.m., police reported a suspicious event in which a person was pacing back and forth and appeared to be out of breath near Harrison Woods Court. The person then walked towards a parked vehicle and spoke to a second person, who also appeared to be out of breath. The two subjects appeared to be intoxicated, police said. When questioned, the suspects said they were trying to get Robke’s for dinner and were lost. Neither person had identification. Officers released the subjects after they were checked out.
