Police Log: Screaming Woman Was ‘Stressed From Work,’ Sinking Sailboat, Lost Child

Thursday, June 9
At 4:35 p.m., police responded to a report of a woman screaming on the side of the road on Church Street. Officers interviewed the woman who said she was stressed from work and was blowing off steam. The woman said she would return home for the afternoon.
At 11:16 p.m., police received a report of an intoxicated man walking in the road on Scudder Avenue. Officers arrived to the scene and interviewed the man, who said he was walking up the road for a cup of coffee.

Friday, June 10
At 1:47 p.m., police responded to a Maple Avenue home for a report of a traumatic hand injury. Full story here.

At 7:01 p.m., a man was arrested for criminal trespassing after he entered a condemned home on Seaview Terrace.
Saturday, June 11
At 3:11 a.m., police received a report that a man and woman boarded a vessel and fled when they were confronted by the owner at the Village Dock on Constitution Square.
At 7:27 p.m., police responded to a report of two kayakers who overturned in Northport Harbor. The kayakers boarded a vessel and were transported to their home on Gina Drive in Centerport.
Sunday, June 12
At 12:25 p.m., police responded to a Main Street location for a 5-year-old boy who was lost. The boy said he lived on Bayview Avenue but did not know which house. The mother flagged down the officers while looking for her son who went missing 10 minutes earlier. The mother and son were reunited and no further police action was required.
At 4:25 p.m., someone filed a noise complaint regarding a breast cancer awareness fundraiser taking place at The Whales Tale on Fort Salonga Road.
At 5:18 p.m., police received a report of a 24-foot-long sailboat that was sinking on its mooring in Northport Harbor. The Huntington Harbor Masters worked to pump water out of the vessel.
At 6:10 p.m., police responded to Napper Tandy’s on Laurel Avenue for a report of a possibly intoxicated driver who drove a car into a fence and left the scene.
